NEW YORK – Authorities are investigating multiple parked vehicle thefts that occurred from Friday night through Saturday morning, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office in New York announced.
According to the authorities’ report, the thefts occurred in cars parked in a residential area of Union Vale on the streets.South Parliman Road, Darren Road, Oakbrook Lane, Brookside Lane Y Rose Court.
Most of the cars were uninsured and the alleged thieves took the opportunity to steal items inside the vehicles such as wallets, cash and other belongings, authorities said.
The Sheriff’s Office recommends that people who live in Dutches County lock their cars and avoid leaving valuables like keys, money or credit cards inside them.
