NEW YORK – Authorities are searching for a suspect in the robbery and assault of a teenager inside an elevator in Queens, police announced.
According to the police report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 27, at about 12:12 pm, when the alleged thief entered the elevator where a child under 15 years of age was in a building located in the 2-10 Astoria Boulevard and Queens.
Once inside the elevator, the suspect began assaulting the young man and took his hearing aids from his jacket pocket and demanded cash, authorities said. Then he fled.
The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 16 and 18 and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt. jeans black and white sneakers.
