They search for a mysteriously missing doctor in a Staten Island park – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – Multiple flyers of a missing doctor are seen along the fences of a park on Staten Island more than a week ago after she disappeared.

Law enforcement officials have said there is no suspicion of a crime in the disappearance of 44-year-old Tamara Saukin. Still, no one has reported seeing the Staten Island doctor since the morning of November 18.

Police say Saukin went for a morning walk with her mother at Clove Lakes Park and then continued alone. She was last seen in a brown jacket, black leggings and pink sneakers, police said.

In the following days, New York Police units have returned to the area to continue search efforts for Saukin since last Wednesday.

“We love her, we want her to return safely. We want to do everything in our power to find her,” said Christina Salcido, a lifelong patient.

Saukin was an ice figure skater. Salcido says Saukin suffered a leg injury years ago, but he didn’t stop it.

“She really loved her life. She was a very energetic person, very athletic. I understand she had an injury not too long ago and that kept her from doing what she used to do, which was ice skating. But she still had the spirit to go out, for example jogging and running, which is what she did here, ”said Salcido.

Separately, they say Saukin abruptly suspended his medical practice in recent weeks, allegedly due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

The park where Saukin disappeared, while relatively flat and borders several Staten Island neighborhoods, has several horse trails and heavily wooded sections that could confuse runners.
