Grateful with the displays of love and prayers, the children of Leo Fernández will receive the public who wishes to say goodbye to their father, today until 7:00 p.m., at Ehret Funeral Home, in Río Piedras.
Gilmarie, Olga Cristina and Carlos Fernández offered a brief press conference this morning before the body of their father, who rests in the uniform of the Puerto Rico Police, who appointed him honorary colonel on November 15, 2019.
It also has the gold pin of recognition of Telemundo, which was awarded by José Cancela, president of the channel, where Leo worked for ten years at Dando Candela.
“On behalf of our family I want to thank you for joining us at this very painful time for us. Not only today we dismiss a great journalist and companion, but a great father and great husband, and the best of grandparents. To a people who first turned to prayers for daddy and I know that he still keeps us in his prayers, on behalf of our family, thank you very much, ”Gilmarie said.

Meanwhile, Olga Cristina, the youngest of the children, presented the song Why did you leave, which she composed a few weeks ago.
“It has hurt me a lot, it has been very difficult to get used to his absence… I presented the song to him, he loved it and he said: ‘I feel proud of you and I am going to help you so many people know it’ .. That song was always for my dad without me knowing, ”said the young woman.

Present were the widow Carmen Lourdes Rivera “Lulu”, her mother Olga Rivera, her brother William Rodriguez, her grandson Damián, among other relatives.
At noon was the Trio Los Andinos; at 5:00 pm. Julio César Sanabria will dedicate a trova to him; and at 6:00 p.m. the Pleneros del Cielo will do the same with the music that Leo liked.
Among the first people to pay their respects, Ms. Mayra López Mulero, Sandra Zaiter, Walbert Matos, Raymond Arrieta’s parents, Ramón Arrieta and Carmín Vázquez were included. The public also began arriving before noon.
Leopoldo III Fernández Rivera died last Sunday at age 60, at the Auxilio Mutuo Hospital, as a result of cardiac arrest. Your body will be cremated, as requested by your wife.
