They robbed businesses with ram cars. Four men, aged 16 to 22, were arrested this week by the gendarmes of Nantes and Châteaubriant. “They are suspected of around fifty burglaries of businesses in the region of Blain and Treillères and the theft of around fifteen cars”, explains the gendarmerie.
Damage greater than 200,000 euros
Since the end of November, the four young men have been leaving at night, stealing vehicles on the public highway, and then using them as a ram car. The gendarmes have counted 18 night outings. They entered businesses by smashing storefronts and stealing cash but also alcohol. To erase as many traces as possible, they burned the vehicles used after the burglaries. According to the gendarmes, the total damage is estimated at more than 200,000 euros. “The identification of the suspects follows several weeks of investigations”, specifies the gendarmerie.
