They revealed the shocking prices of drinks on Old Town Square in Prague

The center of Prague is beautiful, but expensive. Both for tourists and domestic visitors. However, it is also expensive for restaurant operators. PrahaIN.cz was convinced of this during a classic visit to Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square.

Several managers told us off the record that rents range from 100K and up. If they didn’t have the high prices that this text is about, they wouldn’t have a chance to make a living.

If we look away from leases, sub-leases or leases, at least the menu remains in front of us.

The editors photographed the offer of approximately fifteen local pubs and restaurants right on the Old Town Square. We focused mainly on drinks: on the popular beer, then on coffee, water or soft drinks.

In general, we can state that the prices do not differ much.

They are high for locals, acceptable for foreign tourists.

We visited the square in the penultimate week of May, when the center was quite deserted. It was better a week later. Temperatures reached the coveted 25 and the gardens were quite full.

But back to the prices.

Expensive, expensive, expensive

A third of beer (more precisely, 0.3 liters) costs around 90 crowns. Just like beer cut. Birell costs about one hundred crowns. We found two dozen fruit juices for 110-130 crowns. Compared to other restaurants, the tariff for one liter of beer is quite popular on the Old Town Square. For example, a Kozel of this volume costs 240 crowns. One classic beer costs 120 crowns.

A third of the bottle can be had for an average of 90 crowns. A bottle of Bohemia Sekt Brut? Exactly 490 crowns. Parched guests can buy water for 185 crowns (one liter) and two bottles of wine will cost an average of 200-250 crowns. Non-alcoholic tonic costs approximately 110 crowns (0.25 liters). Sprite? Exactly 139 crowns. We found tea for 150 crowns.

Czech tourists will certainly be surprised by a small coffee (8 grams) for 118 crowns or an iced one for 175 crowns.

The center of Prague is generally very expensive. PrahaIN.cz will focus on it regularly, especially during the summer.
