According to information published by La FM and RCN Radio, the ELN guerrilla receives approximately 18,000 million pesos per month, as a result of the extortions and kidnappings carried out by that armed group.
The data corresponds to the money that the ELN receives as a whole, since for each of the seven war fronts that the guerrilla has, they receive $2.5 billion a month, as a result of these illicit activities, without counting illegal mining and other actions carried out by this group. .
This figure contrasts with the statements given in recent days by the leader of that guerrilla, Antonio García, who in two statements stated that the ELN is a “poor organization”.
García stated, in his X account, that this group must resort to kidnappings and extortion to finance the more than 6,000 men that make up its ranks and the different fronts that have a presence in various areas of the country.
“All ELN structures are oriented toward carrying out military operations to obtain finances, since we do not finance ourselves from drug trafficking, we are a poor organization like the majority of Colombians and we are not ashamed,” Garcia wrote.
