RIC in Burgas upheld a complaint filed by GERB-SDS and suspended a member of the Sectional Election Commission in the village of Prohod, Sredets municipality, due to alcohol use.
An immediate inspection was carried out on the spot, and conversations were held with the SIK management.
The person who is a representative of the “Bulgarski Vozhod” PE was tested with a drager by employees of the Ministry of the Interior. The results showed more than 2 parts per million of alcohol in the blood.
The Chairperson of the SIK, on the instructions of the law enforcement authorities, removed Dancho Georgiev Grozdev from the premises, as he stated that he would not return.
“There is an obvious violation of the Election Code, as the member of the SEC does not fulfill his duties and creates prerequisites for a violation of the electoral process – grounds for his release as a member of the SEC according to Art. 72 para. 1, item 5 of the Electoral Code”, states the RIC Burgas in its decision.
