They remove the crossings in Plovdiv and raise the railway lines by 15 meters with BGN 200 million

The conceptual project for the lifting of the railway lines on “Koprivshtitsa” Blvd. and the connection between “Filipovo” station and Central Station in Plovdiv is ready.

This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev and the head of the National Railway Infrastructure Company Zlatin Krumov after the working meeting held in the Regional Administration for the construction of a city railway in Plovdiv.

At the moment, financing of BGN 200 million has been secured under OP “Transport”. Alexiev specified that this is the first stage of the construction of a city railway, the main goal of which is to implement an integrated project that will improve transport connectivity in the city, neighboring municipalities, industrial zones and “Plovdiv” airport.

The project envisages the construction of a double railway line and its elevation by 15 meters, a new bridge for trains and the removal of crossings.
