John Jairo Uribe, producer of the Congress channel, was accused of sexual and labor harassment by Camila Sanclemente, Daniel Sepúlveda and another person who, according to Senator Jota Pe Hernández, fears for his safety and prefers not to reveal his identity. The official and his daughter were removed from office.
Yesterday, Senator Jota Pe Hernández released the complaint of three people who claim to have been victims of workplace harassment, sexual harassment and theft by John Jairo Uribe, who is the producer of the Congress channel.
In the testimonies they point out that Uribe has allegedly sexually abused some of the men he works with and drugs them for this. Additionally, they also state that he asked his workers to return a part of his salary.
first testimony
One of the people who spoke with Senator Hernández asked to remain anonymous out of fear. She points out that she was the victim of sexual harassment and abuse by Uribe. “He (Jhon Jairo Uribe) has been doing this since I’ve known him. In the party of ‘La U’, ESAP, in Roy’s campaign, right now here in Congress”, he is heard saying on the recording.
Then he says that, supposedly, Uribe “drugs people to gain access.” “If you don’t allow yourself sexual access, you get angry. He believes that since he gave you a job, you have to allow yourself access. He puts drugs on someone that leaves them totally vulnerable ”account.

Daniel Sepúlveda, another of the alleged victims of John Jairo Uribe, also accused him of sexual abuse. “I have been working with him for many years. From the ‘U’ party. I have always been harassed by him, he has always liked me. (…) When I do not give in to what he wants, he takes me out of work (…) I have had to leave many times (…) Since the economic situation is not the best, I go back to work because he is looking for me ”, he pointed.
In his complaint, Sepúlveda points out that he was fired in February for not returning the money they asked for because when he started working with him, Uribe told him that he had to return part of his salary to “make up for other expenses” that he had.
“I have an audio that I recorded when he asked me for that money that he had to return. She told me that I had to go sign a letter with the lawyer because they can’t keep me there anymore for not returning it. She tells me that she is going to make my life miserable. I tell her that the next day I am going to sign the letter and she is filled with rage. She practically pushes me out of the channel. I had the card there and she shaved it off me ”, mentions.
“He asks me for the money in cash. They live very pending payment from us. As soon as they pay, they send us a message with the daughter who also works in Congress. They say we should return the money. I earned 3,166,000 pesos and of that I had to return 380,000 to the stock market”, exposes.

The third testimony is that of Camila Sanclemente, who worked as a presenter on the Canal del Congreso. “He asks me to present him with the resignation letter because just as he brought me here, he asks me to leave. May we not take this to any scale. That we do this under the hood because if I stay, it will be a storm for him ”, tell Sanclement.
“He writes to me that he does not remove me from my job for contractual purposes, because I have failed with something in my contract or have not fulfilled any obligation. He tells me that it is because he no longer wants me on his team and that one must leave where they do not want one ”, added.

After all this scandal and after Senator Jota Pe Hernández’s request for action to be taken, both Jhon Jairo Uribe and his daughter, Valeria Uribe, were removed from their posts. This was reported by the president of Congress, Roy Barreras, who in a statement reported that Uribe did not work directly with Congress but with a contracting company.
