After the works carried out on the upper transverse with 12A South Street in El Poblado, it was possible to remove the landslide that had blocked the vehicular passage since last Friday, allowing the flow of vehicles through the area to be normalized.
“Today, October 30, the road is opened and the inspection of the tree is carried out again, which is vertical without any type of inclination and the Physical Infrastructures of tree pruning and the Metropolitan Area are activated so that the risk is mitigated” , said Captain Juan Guillermo Usma, deputy commander of the fire brigade of Medellín.
According to the authorities, the rains of the last few days in the city and following the saturation of the soil, have generated a mass movement on Carrera 25 which affected the passage between Calles 12A Sur and 16A Sur. After learning of the emergency, the crews of the Secretariat of Physical Infrastructure were sent to remove the material and clean the road.
The road was closed because a tree had to be cut down in the area and some power lines had to be moved. On the other hand, the Mayor’s Office reported that it will continue to monitor the mass movement to prevent it from putting the sector at risk again.
