SAN DIEGO – Christmas shopping will be very different for consumers this year so it is recommended that consumers start shopping for gifts this weekend.
Many families are already taking out the Christmas tree to decorate their homes, and they are also already looking for the special gifts to deliver on those days, but they face high demand and shortages.
THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO MAKE YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
According to experts, problems with the production and distribution of products have delayed supply in stores by up to 12 weeks, when the typical wait was four.
“Before I found more things, and now almost no. You can’t find what I’m looking for, ”acknowledged Francisca Cruz, who was shopping with her daughter in San Diego.
The lack of options will be most notable in electronics, sportswear, even artificial Christmas trees, and even decorations like lights and spheres.
That is why it is recommended that people do their year-end purchases now, but with consideration of avoiding debt.
Beatriz Hartman, financial wellness advisor, recommends creating specific holiday budgets, “Knowing how much you can spend last on your income2.
She also recommends writing a list of additional gifts and purchases to celebrate, keeping your family’s spending order in order.
“Then make a very specific list, by category that you are going to give gifts to,” says Hartman.
According to Miro Copic, a marketing teacher at San Diego State University, the 10 to 12% of consumers who wait until the last week will not see the discounts like they used to.
They may not even find the products they are looking for.
So join those who are already beginning to sing Merry Christmas now with José Feliciano and start planning your December celebrations if you want discounts and selection.
