The City Council of A Estrada will have to readjust the budget in order to complete the works to expand the parking lot of the Principal theater.
The work had begun in November, with the demolition of the barn that was used as a municipal garage and the oven of the old bakery located in the area. The project had estimated the cost of the actions at around 40,000 euros. But at the time of execution, the technical complications that arose made the project more expensive. A good part of the planned demolitions had to be carried out by manual means, especially to avoid damage to the surrounding buildings. In addition, the earthworks were more than expected, since in some areas it was necessary to carry out excavations of up to 1.5 meters. These issues slowed down a work that the government initially hoped to have finished before the Christmas holidays.
The unforeseen events in the technical execution of the work also brought with them an extra cost. The government is now adjusting accounts to finish the work. Last week, the new surface of the prking was finished in gravel. Now the agglomeration and the painting of the parking spaces are pending, which will increase to 150. The government hopes to be able to resolve the economic issue shortly to tackle the agglomerate and reopen the parking lot this month.
