The National Congress yesterday approved a moratorium on the validity of the decree, which it approved the previous week, on a loan of 335 million dollars between the central government and the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH).
The presence in the plenary session of the former president of the BCH, Wilfredo Cerrato, was requested to explain or give more details about that loan that was approved in his management when he was the owner of the banking institution.
The deputy of the Salvador Party of Honduras (PSH), Carlos Umaña, said he was satisfied with the determination, because it shows the seriousness of his caucus, which opposed the loan being approved in a single debate.
THE LOAN
The previous week, the Legislature, in its sole debate, approved a loan between the government and the BCH, for an amount of 335 million 970 thousand dollars, resources that will support the payment of the external and internal debt.
The credit agreement approved in the chamber was between the BCH and the Government of the Republic, through the Ministry of Finance, an institution that will administer the mentioned credit to allocate it to cover the deficit and any activity. (JS)
