Cojocaru claims that his life and health were endangered “due to the negligence, lack of professionalism, lack of discernment and personal interests” of the doctors.
The complaint was filed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 4 Court, against the ATI doctor Ruxandra Bunescu and the neurosurgeons Costel Serban, Costica Zamfir and Mircea Gorgan.
In support of the allegations, he claims that members of his family bought equipment for visitors and disinfectants on their own initiative, after seeing that in hospital they were missing. At the same time, the complaint mentions the fact that the family members were made to buy some drugs.
Cojocaru also notes that, when he read the in-hospital transfer ticket, he saw that his condition in those days did not correspond to the information in the ticket. In addition, he says that doctors from Bagdasar Arseni would have initially admitted that he took two bacteria from the hospital.
“I mention that these bacteria are specifically intrahospital infections, which can cause the death of patients with pneumonia or other infections, colonize the whole body, leading to decreased immunity,” writes Marian Cojocaru in the complaint.
Later, he says that the doctors changed their position and announced to his wife that they will give a statement in which they will claim that Marian Cojocaru took the two bacteria not from the hospital, but from the lake where he fell. But the man says that when he was transferred to the hospital Monza from the Capital it was found that he was infected with two other hospital bacteria.
Doctors, reluctant to transfer abroad
In addition, the pilot says that his wife was accused by doctors of wanting to hurt them when she asked questions about how he could be transferred abroad, so he ended up asking for the help of the Ministry of Health.
Cojocaru recalls that when one of the doctors was asked what documents were needed to be transferred, the doctor accused his wife of wanting to flee the country.
“Given the above, I consider that I did not enjoy the rights that I deserved as an insured patient, I consider that my life and health were endangered due to negligence and lack of professionalism, lack of discernment and personal interests of doctors from the Bagdasar Arseni Emergency Clinical Hospital, who had to provide appropriate medical care without endangering my life “, says Cojocaru.
In addition, he requests that Dr. Mircea Gorgan and Dr. Serban Costel be held accountable, because they allegedly threatened his family.
As the hospital representatives respond
The management of Bagdasar Arseni Hospital refused to answer at this moment, showing that it is waiting for the institution’s lawyers to see the data from the criminal complaint.
Instead, the interim manager, one of the four doctors targeted in the complaint, says that the pilot would not have survived in the first days, which were critical for his subsequent evolution, if he had not been treated properly.
“The data from the Cojocaru patient’s complaint are expected. Of course, one thing is certain, the first days, which were vital, were exceeded precisely because he was treated properly,” said the interim manager.
