They protest against the anticovid vaccine card

“Freedom, freedom, freedom”, was the slogan that a group of protesters shouted in the Independence Park of the Colonial City, for the elimination of resolution 000048 of the Public Ministry, which establishes that “all persons over 18 years of age must present vaccination card against Covid-19 to attend in person to public places, transport, schools, bars, restaurants and other establishments ”.

At the head of the group were the graduates Carmen Orozco, Yan Carlos Martínez and César Polanco, supported, among others, by civil and religious society organizations that, when setting a position on the subject, specified that with this resolution, Public Health and Social Assistance “ they violate the social and democratic state of law ”.

“Today, more than five million Dominicans are prevented from buying food, studying, exercising, receiving health, freely exercising rights,” said Carmen Orozco.

“We are being discriminated against in our own homeland,” Orozco added. He denounced that an attempt has been made to emphasize the “guilt” of the “unvaccinated”, attributing responsibility for the country not being able to achieve immunity for them.

Citizens in protest gathered in Independence Park, from 4:00 in the afternoon, rejecting “the violation of rights, democracy and freedom” They claim that these “may be the beginning of totally dictatorial measures.”

With banners they carried slogans such as “No to the mandatory vaccine”, and patriotic songs, they expressed their disagreement with the resolution.

In addition, in relation to the vaccination plans for children between 5 and 11 years old, Martínez assured that they will face permanent resistance, since “it is an abuse to try to inoculate minors, when there is no research carried out with this.”
