They promote the banana production chain in Alto Yanajanca – Inforegion

HUÁNUCO. The National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) and the District Municipality of Santa Rosa de Alto Yanajanca, in the province of Marañón (Huánuco), initiated the project to improve the banana production chain that will benefit 363 producer families.

This project has a cost of S / 800,000, a budget that was transferred by Devida to said municipality with the aim of improving the productive chain of banana cultivation in 568 hectares, strengthening the banana organizations and at the same time achieving an adequate production system and marketing to 363 families in seven communities that are located in La Perla, Yanajanca, Nuevo Circuito, Dorado, Tamish, Camunguillo and Santa Rosa de Alto Yanajanca.

The project began with the induction of the technical team, personalized socialization of the project to the seven participating communities, in addition, training has been provided to banana promoters on issues of importance of the cultivation, production system (polyculture and associated cultivation), factors required for production of bananas, etc.

The technical team also received training on the agronomic management of the plantain crop in ecophysiology, IPM (Integrated Pest Management), fertilization, pre-harvest and post-harvest; “The professionals (of the project) managed to exchange theoretical – practical information, for later replication in the participants,” said the project coordinator, Elber Rodríguez Córdoba.

It is worth mentioning that the project contemplates the implementation of a collection module (avado ponds, sheds and crates, together with supplies for cleaning and removing latex) to improve conditions for the care of the bunches, INFOREGIÓN was informed.

Given:
Devida also transferred more than S / 4 million for the creation of the bridge over the Huamuco River in the town of Santa Rosa de Alto Yanajanca, which will have a positive impact on the economy of 2,199 beneficiaries, grouped in 805 families dedicated to agriculture.
