The National Banking and Securities Commission reported a 261% increase in accounts managed by brokerage houses, that is, 1.4 million users more than last year
The financial ecosystem changed in the last 10 years and now there are more options to invest in a dynamic and fun way, but you don’t have to be an expert to put money to work, said the CEO of Mexican Stock Market Group (GBM) and presenter of Money Fest, Pedro de Garay.
In addition, he highlighted that the digital festival, unique in Mexico and Latin America, is focused on promoting learning about personal finance under the motto: “It is time to invest” without being an expert, “because savings that fall asleep, are eaten by inflation.”
In its third virtual edition on October 16, the event will present various talks and workshops
“Our mission is to turn Mexico into a country of investors and remove the paradigms that investments are for the few, only for sophisticated people,” said the CEO of Grupo Bursatil Mexicano (GBM) and presenter of the festival, Pedro de Garay.
In this regard, Sofía Macías, author of “Little Capitalist Pig” (italics) and one of the organizers of the event, mentioned that the financial ecosystem has radically changed in the last 10 years, giving rise to new options to invest from amounts really accessible.
“Interest in investments is growing representatively, in March 2021 the National Banking and Securities Commission reported almost 1.4 million accounts managed by 35 brokerage houses, which represents an increase of 261% over the previous year.”
Likewise, the financial education specialist explained that although the percentage of people who save has increased, the practice of “keeping money under the mattress or saving it in very risky ways” still persists.
Macías stressed that the pandemic is an opportunity to become aware of the multiple future crises and it is necessary to have healthy finances, an emergency fund and controlled debts.
MoneyFest activities will be taught by more than 15 specialists, among which are: Sofía Macías; María Ariza, general director of the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA), Manolo wigueras, from El Lago de los Business, and Eduardo Rosas, finance specialist and youtuber.
MoneyFest will be broadcast through its website https://www.moneyfest.com.mx/, the general cost is $ 1,099, but if you only want to attend one of the two modules in which the festival is divided, the price is $ 750.
