They present a project to make vaccination against the coronavirus mandatory | “It is a social good of collective interest”

The deputies of the Labor and People’s Party (PTP) in the Frente de Todos, Juan Carlos Alderete and Verónica Caliva, presented a bill in the National Congress to establish the mandatory nature of vaccination against the coronavirus. In hospitals, most of those hospitalized for Covid did not apply the first dose or do not have the complete schedule.

The initiative called “Incorporation of the Vaccine against Covid 19 into the National Vaccination Calendar”, aims to equate the serums developed to combat the pandemic virus to the rest of the mandatory vaccines. “Vaccines have proven worldwide to be one of the safest and most effective strategic tools to prevent and control the SARS CoV-2 pandemic that is sweeping the world. This is demonstrated by all the scientific reports and studies”, said Alderete.

Through his social networks, the deputy also argued that “vaccinating has not only been effective in caring for the life and health of the people, but has also allowed the reestablishment of economic and social activities.” “We strive and fight so that the entire population is vaccinated,” he added.

Among the fundamentals of the project, Alderete remarked “even today there is a part of the population that has not been vaccinated or has not completed the scheme despite the call.” For this reason, he pointed out that they propose its mandatory nature. “We are talking about a social good of collective interest,” he concluded.

According to the data provided by the Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, two out of three hospitalized in intensive care for coronavirus in the City of Buenos Aires were not vaccinated and one in ten was given a dose. The remaining 25 percent have two doses. Two weeks ago, the province of Buenos Aires reported a similar picture: only 18 percent of those vaccinated occupy a place in intensive care units.

For her part, the head of the Epidemiological Control and Infectology Service of the Garrahan Pediatric Hospital, María Rosa Bologna, assured that of the hospitalized patients “only 30 percent have the complete vaccination schedule”, while she warned that this week ” hospitalizations continued to increase. Along the same lines, last week the Garrahan pediatrician Oscar Trotta warned that the health center had to reopen a third hospitalization room.
