The Xochitepec City Council, chaired by Roberto Gonzalo Flores Zúñiga, presented the Municipal Diagnosis for the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy, carried out through the Municipal Group for the Prevention of Pregnancy in Adolescents (GMPEA).
Mirna Delgado Baron, head of the Municipal Women’s Instance, reported that this diagnosis collected information from 551 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old in school, which represents 17.5% of the student population.
Based on the results, an action plan was designed that includes workshops on emotional bonds free of violence, plastic arts on consent and programs to promote a responsible sexual life through the DIF and the Youth Instance.
In his speech, “Chalo” Flores reaffirmed his commitment to implementing these strategies: “It is time to support women. “We will work to strengthen the social fabric with concrete actions based on this report.”
For her part, Aurora Maldonado, director for Peace Construction and Social Cohesion of the Secretary of Social Welfare of the Federal Government, highlighted the importance of strengthening family education to promote a culture of peace.
Meanwhile, María Eugenia Boyas Ramos, head of Sipinna, highlighted that the analysis will allow the development of public policies in coordination with the Secretariats of Education, Health and Government.
Teacher Edith Zúñiga Madrigal, president of the DIF Xochitepec, members of the Cabildo, municipal directors, assistants and representatives of educational institutions participated in the event.
