They prepare a pastry workshop aimed at family members and cancer patients

The workshop will be in charge of teachers and students of REXUNE and of the Psychology career of FAFI-UNE.

A first pastry workshop will take place this Thursday, April 20, at the Teresa Amelia care center of the Fundación Apostar por la Vida, located in the city of Hernandarias. The workshop will be in charge of teachers from the University Extension Network of the National University of the East (REXUNE), other educators and extension students of the third year of the Psychology career of the National University of the East (FAFI-UNE).

The pastry course will begin at 08:00 and will last until 12:00, on the premises of the aforementioned care center. Moist carrot, orange, lemon, vanilla, chocolate cakes, among others, will be made. It will be aimed at family members and hospital patients so that they can generate their own income or simply acquire knowledge in the area of ​​gastronomy.

The school cooking workshops are part of a project called REXUNE Entrepreneurship and is coordinated by the extension teacher Abg. Teresa Fleitas, and the instructor of the cooking school workshops is the teacher Lic. Mirian Raquel Flecha.

On this occasion, they are carried out in conjunction with the project “Accompaniment to cancer patients and their families of the Apostar por la Vida Foundation”, coordinated by the teacher Lic. Ana Cristina Ibarra Maciel, for which reason, FAFI-UNE Psychology students will be part of the workshop

Psychology students have been working with family members and cancer patients for five years, with special attention, execution of mental health projects, motivational therapies, breakfasts, games, support in infrastructure work, support in files and medical care, among others. tasks.
