Chihuahua, Chih.- On October 20, the association “Alianza Rosa Chihuahua AC” will carry out a tour for a cause to the Ex Hacienda del Torreón, which aims to donate all the money raised to women with breast cancer.
Omar García, president of the Alianza Rosa association, mentioned that unfortunately Chihuahua has the highest rate of breast cancer in the country, emphasizing that this figure is a serious problem that must be solved, mentioning that one of the main objectives of the race for a cause is prevention.
“Cancer is a disease that affects both the health and the psychological aspects of patients. We are a very new association, but our goals are very clear: to support women who are going through this and to increase preventive check-ups to detect these diseases in time,” added Omar García.
The money raised in the race will be used and distributed among various cancer patients, according to their needs, such as breast prostheses, reconstruction, catheters, medications, among other needs.
The race “Pedaling for life with a cause” will start at 8:00 in the morning at the exit of the Ex Hacienda del Torreón and will end at the El Rejón dam. In addition, from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning they will carry out the first spinnington pedaling and from 11:30 to 1:30 in the afternoon the second spinnington will begin.
The race will cost 600 pesos per person and will include a jersey and socks for the first 300 people who register, and the spinnington will cost 350 pesos, which will also include the jersey.
Pedaling for a good cause will have various categories such as Elite, from 20 to 29 years old; Master, from 30 to 49 years old; Master 50-60, Beginner Men and finally Beginner Women.
One of the main attractions of the race is passing by the emblematic ranch “La Cruz” and the hill known by cyclists as “z”, which the objective is to climb completely without getting off the bike.
“Take care of yourselves, you are not alone, prevention saves lives. Unfortunately, we have a close relationship between cancer and death, but this is not the case. For this reason, we encourage timely prevention and I am sure that we will succeed in lowering the shocking number of deaths from cancer,” Omar added, encouraging everyone to participate for a very good cause.
