Ciudad Juárez.- The citizen group “Unidad, Servicio y Ayuda” enabled a new collection point from where it invites Juárez residents to share with families in need and join its campaign to deliver food supplies on its last tour of 2023 outside hospitals.

Abelardo Quijano, representative of the group, reported in an interview for Netnoticias that monthly they carry out tours outside six hospitals in the city, where they distribute drinks and food to relatives of patients who are leaving visiting hours, which due to the times , transfers and expenses, many times they have not eaten anything.

The dynamic in the month of December represents a challenge in which the goal is not only to deliver food for the moment in which people are found, but also to distribute pantries with the most basic things for food in homes.

The community interested in collaborating can bring their contributions to the two collection centers, with the recent opening of a second point to facilitate options for donors:

The solidarity project began in 2017 and over six years it has managed to carry out visits at least once a month, thanks to the contributions collected from neighbors, co-workers, students from the Paso del Norte University Center and the general population. , increasing in each edition the number of people benefited. Having started with 40 portions, now around a thousand are distributed due to high demand.

“We want to bring hot chocolate because the low temperatures are already present; the most practical bread and cookies, pantries with beans, rice, oil, the most basic things. We seek to support households that do not have a bonus for the end of the year when expenses are coming,” said the volunteer.

Furthermore, as it is the last activity, the group seeks to join the “Santa Bombero” campaign, so people will be able to follow the activity on Saturday to deliver the donation of toys or take them to the collection points.

The delivery tour will be on Saturday, December 9 at 6:00 in the afternoon, forming two groups it is planned to tour the General Hospital; the Women’s Hospital; the General Hospital of Zone No. 6 of the IMSS; the General Zone Hospital of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste); the IMSS No. 45 and the IMSS No. 66.
