According to the official version, the murderer shot and murdered Lorenzo Pérez after talking to him while selling food.
At the same time, they ruled out that the homicide had been the result of a robbery.

After the incident, the Police offered a reward of $ 5,000 for information that would help solve the case, however, on Monday morning they increased the amount to $ 21,000.
For his part, the president of the Municipal Council, Luis Chavez, thanked the people who have already provided clues to solve the case.
“(They) sent videos and photos and descriptions of the suspect and the incident,” he stated, adding that they need help to catch this dangerous individual.
However, the police said that the murder of Lorenzo Pérez is also an indication of deeper problems on the streets.
Pérez is the 20th homicide victim so far in 2021, 15 more than were counted at this time in 2020. In addition, violent crimes will begin to increase dramatically.
It should be noted that Lorenzo is the fourth street vendor attacked this year.
Police say the suspect is around 6.2 feet (1.87 meters) and weighs 200 pounds (90 kilograms) or more, and is in his late teens or early twenties.
