They were teenagers in Avignon in the sixties. Today, the dial turns around eighty! But no matter, the years, the memories of this golden age of the sixties have remained very present. Alain Bronzini, a dyed-in-the-wool Avignonnais, wanted to see his childhood friends again: “The idea was to meet up with friends over a good meal, at the Bistro du Moulin in Villeneuve, to talk about our youth, the sixties, a fabulous period for us. So I called each other and we managed to find ourselves at ten around the table with two girls!”, explains Alan.
Obviously, Avignon was the center of interest with the people who left their mark on the city. Anecdotes, photos, posters, they did not come empty-handed and with a head full of memories.
The great mythical places of the time such as rue de la Ré “Whether we went up and down on foot or by vespa. The La Régence bistro at the corner of rue Joseph-Vernet was our headquarters. We met every Thursday to find a surprise party at some or at the We attended the Lycée Mistral and the Lycée et Collège Technique, located within the walls of the Petit Palais, and the tour buses parked on the Place du Palais”.
With nostalgia, they evoked the city where they were born: “Avignon was a pretty, fabulous town, clean, well maintained, there were lots of Provençals”.
Everyone welcomed Alain Bronzini’s initiative: “It was a very pleasant reunion. We had lost sight of each other for a long time. We had known each other since the age of 15, 16. It was a fantastic period of total freedom. We left on a scooter, Vespa or Lambretta, without a helmet at Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer!”.
