The independentistas who, four years later, have taken the streets of Barcelona again, toured emblematic places between songs and banners that demand the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia to give effect to the mandate of the referendum held on October 1, 2017.
Among the political participants who appeared at the mobilization were the president of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, the former councilors Josep Rull and Jordi Turull and the president of the ANC, Elisenda Paluzie.
Borràs made a call to “regain strength to implement the result of the referendum” of that October 1, which he says was carried out with determination.
While the president of the ANC stressed that despite the repression, the independentistas came out winners. “We were winners because the forces of the rupture were imposed on those of the reform. They are a demonstration of control of the territory. They could not prevent a vote and win,” he declared.
The demonstrations held during this weekend come prior to the statement of former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont before a judge in Sardinia, Italy, after his arrest last week and subsequent release.
