The Tenerife Operational Coordination Center (Cepopin) confirms the declaration of an outbreak of fire in the Tenerife municipality of La Orotava. The fire has broken out in the Pinolere area, near the fairgrounds and some homes. Media from the Cabildo de Tenerife Brifor have already been activated, as well as Tenerife Firefighters from the La Orotava, Realejos and La Laguna parks, as well as volunteers from Tegueste and the Local Police of La Orotava. At the moment the affected area is unknown.
People evacuated
According to the Cabildo de Tenerife, a second source detected has decreased in intensity due to the action of aerial means. At the moment, about fifteen houses have been evacuated. In addition, preventive resources have been activated Red Cross in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
High temperature alert
The Government of the Canary Islands had declared, this Friday, the alert for the risk of fires in the islands of Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and Gran Canaria, after the State Meteorological Agency activated the yellow warning for high temperatures.
