He Festival PaLibrarte made this 2024, together with more than half a million pesos, which is intended to be used to make a largest literary eventwith more books and more people in 2025.
Alejandra Flores Valencia, director of the Festival PaLibrartecommented that the festival held last April had a total value of 520 thousand 842.96 pesos. This resource will be managed so that in the next year’s edition will have more books than this year.
It should be noted that the objective of the event is to foster the habit of reading among citizens, since it is estimated that less than half of adults read any literary material per year other than school material.
In addition, five out of 10 are students of some School leveland the material they read is mostly their textbooks and bibliographic sources for doing work.
For her part, Claudia Cruz, member of the organizing committee of the PaLibrarte Festival, mentioned that among the changes that are intended to be made are adjustments in the Call to expand the festival from seven to 10 hoursand that there are more activities where more people of different ages participate.
Among the activities that are managed to repeat in the Cancun Park, during the next event, will repeat a photographic exhibition such as that of marine life by photographer Alberto Friscione. Also have an area where you can write love letters with a typewriter.
A segment where you can make clay figurines, listen to music for stories with pre-Hispanic instruments, perform radio programs for children, create bookmarks, among others.
It should be noted that the Raised funds came largely from institutions, companies and citizens. Respectively, these different sectors granted 12 thousand 931, four thousand, and five thousand 500 pesos for the event.
The funds raised will be used to transport visitors to the different areas of the event, provide promotional items, stationery and printing, blackboards, pay bicycle taxi drivers, sponsorships, and recruit more volunteers to interact with the public.
The next fundraising goal is at least the same as the one achieved this year.
