The modern house of Lars Christian Jensen and Camilla Hetland is inspired by an old barn.
The two lived until June last year in a 70 square meter apartment on Grünerløkka in Oslo. After many years in the capital, they were determined to move to Camilla’s hometown. It was Camilla’s sister who knew about the newly built house, close to where she herself lived.
In the old days, several small farms lay along Forusstranda. Now these are construction sites. Løa in Oddahagen was demolished for a while before architect Anders Westlye Sølvberg from Vestly arkitektur came into the picture. The zoning plan for the area provided clear guidelines for what the new building on the old barn site should look like, he said.
