They lied about their contacts or movement. Prague hygiene saved them a fine of 10,000

“Currently, we have about 1,200 misdemeanor proceedings in our country. How many of these are cases where a person provided us with false information that he was not in any contact and did not move to the place where there was an occurrence, and then the opposite is proven, I can not say, but these were isolated cases, “she told Novinky director of Prague hygienists Zdeňka Jágrová.

According to Jágrová, however, it is difficult to know which of the interviewees lied about their contacts, because the hygienists rely only on the information obtained during the tracing interview with the person in question. In several cases, however, Prague hygienists have already managed to prove that the person lied and, for example, moved to places where he did not have at the time.

After the revelation of the lie a fine of 10 thousand

“In such a case, misdemeanor proceedings may be instituted against him and he may be fined, as has already happened,” she explained the subsequent procedure. In such a case, hygienists can impose a fine of up to 10,000 crowns. According to Jágrová, this is the maximum amount of the fine.

But she also pointed out that the imaginary final limit is not just a fine of ten thousand. If a person who withholds information is guilty of infecting other people with his actions, it would already be a criminal offense of spreading a contagious disease, for which, for example, there is a sentence of up to eight years in times of emergency. This is no longer the responsibility of the hygienists, but the case is being taken over by the police.

On Sunday, the chairman of the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions (CMKOS), Josef Středula, also drew attention to a certain reluctance of people to communicate information to the authorities during the pandemic. According to him, some companies prohibit their employees from participating in tracing contacts with hygiene or installing the eRouška application.

According to earlier statements from the World Health Organization (WHO), tracing infected people is, for example, one of the tools to manage and control the spread of covid-19. In the Czech Republic, the disease has been spreading uncontrollably in communities for several weeks now, which has resulted in, among other things, high increases in those infected. Because of this, hygienists often do not have time to trace, and people often go to smart quarantine due to the long wait for a trace call and agree on their possible contacts themselves.
