they learn nine lessons from the health crisis

The Basque Country Development Council (CDPB) has just closed a large online survey. No less than 135 inhabitants of the Basque Country, from the coast to the interior, of all ages and backgrounds, participated.

In this context of health crisis, the CDPB sought to know the evolution of their lifestyles, their fears and their avenues for the future, “for a virtuous development of the territory”.

Verbatim

Some respondents appreciated the activation of short circuits during confinement. Others insist on the disparities between inhabitants vis-à-vis fiber, still others on the joys of life in the countryside …

The CDPB has thus produced the synthesis of this great verbatim, which shows nine lessons on the crisis. It’s about :

– to question the real economy again;

– enter fully into the digital society;

– to establish a new geography of proximity and living environment;

– put food at the heart of concerns;

– guarantee the social link, a factor of renewed solidarity;

– to mobilize collectively around vulnerabilities;

– to transcend the border;

– to satisfy an expectation of territorial citizenship;

– reorient the development model.

In the concrete

The representatives of the Development Council develop these axes and above all plan to convert these trends into concrete proposals.

Proposals that will then be available to elected officials from the Basque Country, moreover gathered in general assembly this Friday July 31. Whether or not they want to use them is up to them.
