North Carolina, Charlotte- A new project by the therapeutic singer, Ana Lucia Divins, called “Feel it with Music”, will be presented to the community virtually this Thursday, April 28.
The project is part of the Mecklenburg County Arts and Sciences Council’s “Culture Blocks” program, which seeks to bring arts and cultural activities to the community in specific areas of the city of Charlotte and the county.
What is “Feel it with Music”
“Sientelo con Música” is a program that includes free concerts and musical workshops, in which Divins, accompanied by the musicians of her group “Café Amaretto” will share a repertoire of “very sentimental” songs in both Spanish and English.
“I come to offer my heart”, and boleros such as “Bésame mucho” and “Toda una vida”, will be some of the songs that Divins and his band will perform.
“We will be inviting participants to connect with their feelings, hopes and dreams for the future,” said Divins, who is of Colombian origin.
bilingual programs
According to Divins, this initiative is aimed at the community in general, since the programs are bilingual.
“But the focus is on connecting with the Latino community through a culturally relevant program, and with options completely in Spanish,” Divins told NC Latin link.
Divins said that he began training as a singing therapist three years ago, and six months ago he began working in this area of singing.
The Colombian-American has become known in the Charlotte area not only through her group “Café Amaretto”, but also as a singer-educator with “Criss Cross MangoSauce”, where she performed countless musical programs for children.
