With expert teachers, permanent exercise activities, vocational and socio-emotional orientation, reinforcement of knowledge with personalized tutorials, the eleventh version of the free pre-university will be held this year in the Taltal commune.
This initiative has been developed since 2011, with the purpose of improving the skills and average grades of the students of the commune, so that, consequently, they have more possibilities of entering higher education. This year it will be completely face-to-face.
JOsé Nadaff, HSEC Coordinator and Community Leader at Yamana Gold assured that “it is a pride to launch this new version of the free Pre-University in the Taltal commune, which in 2022 will consider the subjects of biology and history, and will benefit nearly a hundred students from the Juan Cortés Monroy-Cortés and José Polytechnic High Schools. The executive added that “there are several young people from Taltal who are studying and have graduated from careers such as law, engineering of different specialties, psychology, dentistry, thanks to this pre-university. The new version will be carried out face-to-face with a specialized team in charge of reviewing subjects, carrying out standard question-and-answer exercises for the test they must take when applying to universities, providing vocational and socio-emotional guidance, and doing self-control and anxiety management.
For him Mayor Guillermo Hidlago Ocampo «This alliance with the private company is essential, to have their commitment and will in the purpose of generating greater knowledge and adequate preparation for our young people, from whom we hope they will know how to take advantage of the opportunity by giving their best in this process. Developing quality education is a shared priority in these times of greater demands and social transformations».
On June 7, this initiative will be kicked off, which will run until November 4 with a total of 30 classes, motivational talks, 4 test preparation rehearsals, at the Hogar School from 5:30 p.m. 8:15 p.m. Young students will receive snacks, materials and incentives for attendance.
