They laugh and they bounce around Apanical

To celebrate the sixteenth anniversary of their group, the Doctors of Laughter carried out different activities yesterday; After meeting in the Plaza de la Mexicanidad or de la “X”, they left in a caravan with their vehicles decorated with balloons and other accessories, to reach the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer and Leukemia (Apanical).

In front of the Apanical facilities, located on Avenida Ejército Nacional, almost on the corner with Jacinto Benavente, they asked for several hours the economic cooperation of motorists in support of this association, in addition to donating medical supplies for healing and cleaning supplies, as well as tapas of plastic that are later sold as recyclable material.

Nohemí Chávez, in charge of the Communications and Training Commission for Doctors of Laughter, said that the 55 members of the group participated in these activities, apart from friends and family who accompanied them in community support activities, echoing its motto “Nose to order”.

Known as “Doctor Chiporro”, Nohemí commented that the support for Apanical was part of the activities to celebrate that 16 years ago they began to visit public and private hospitals to bring joy to the sick through presentations and gifts, especially for the children.

“We have been volunteers for more than three decades, and this year we celebrate it with a very special cause in support of the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer and Leukemia, so we invite the Juarense community to be part of this celebration by sharing and helping to these brave children who suffer from the disease, ”said Nohemí.

Before going to Apanical, the Doctors of Laughter, led by its president Fernando Guijarro, “Doctor Maromas”, and those who accompanied them, met at 9:30 in the morning in the Plaza de la Mexicanidad, where they took photographs and they created the choreography for “Jerusalema”.

The “Doctor Chiporro” commented that due to the Covid-19 pandemic they cannot enter the hospitals to give joy to the sick, but they have dedicated the last months to helping in another way, one of them with caravans and a show in front of them health centers and from within patients see them.

He said that during this month they were gathering medical supplies for cures such as gauze, syringes, cotton, alcohol, bandages and other products, as well as cleaning supplies, which they donated yesterday to Apanical.

Apart from that, he indicated, the donation of braids with which wigs can be made for cancer patients is being promoted, as well as plastic caps so that in that association they can sell them as recyclable material and obtain resources.

They are also selling masks with the Doctor of Laughter logo and the characterization of a clown. What they capture from these sales will be delivered to Apanical.

“Doctor Chiporro” said that their work is not only reduced to making people laugh, since they are an altruistic group that supports the community in different ways. They play, sing, make laugh, but also listen, accompany and give encouragement and words of encouragement to people in moments of pain due to illness, problems or grief. “We were born and we like to support different groups that exist in our city, such as associations that serve patients who fight against breast cancer, groups that support people with autism, hearing disabilities, Down syndrome, blindness, as well as we also visit one by one those who are hospitalized in a clinic that we attend, “he added.
