They isolate a plant of the Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria due to an outbreak of 21 infected | BE Las Palmas

These are twelve nephrology and palliative patients, who have been transferred to the covid plant of the same hospital and another nine workers who are already in quarantine and their close contacts isolated. The device was activated 24 hours ago after a patient with symptoms compatible with coronavirus tested positive.

From there, a screening was carried out among the 100 people who accessed the fourth floor of the Insular Hospital, whose results so far is 21 people who gave positive in the tests, and it is not ruled out that this number may increase. The plant has been isolated and visits restricted. According to the manager of the Insular Hospital, Alejandra Torres, all those infected are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.

To this outbreak we must add another detected in the Las Palmas II prison that affects about thirty inmates who tested positive for Covid who so far have not presented symptoms of the disease, and according to the Ministry of the Interior, they are being carried out tests to the rest of the inmates and workers of the center without having tested positive for the moment.
