They invite you to the celebration of the Twentieth Anniversary of the Cayeyano Sports Hall of Fame

District representative Gretchen Hau and mayor Rolando Ortiz Velázquez.

The mayor of Cayey, Rolando Ortiz Velázquez, announced that on Friday, November 29, starting at 3:00 in the afternoon, the Cayey Sports Hall of Fame celebrates its Twentieth Anniversary. The event will take place at the headquarters of the entity-museum, located at Calle Luis Muñoz Rivera 116 South, in the urban center.

The mayor noted that “for generations, Cayey has been a benchmark for the practice of a wide variety of sports with professionals who have given luster to the city. The Hall of Fame celebrates the exploits of athletes who set their goals and proudly represented our beloved Cayey.” In all 22 neighborhoods we live and breathe sport, thanks to the fact that the Municipality has maintained a Sports Massification program, which, added to the private, educational and community programs, contributes to the development of all sports disciplines.

In terms of facilities, the Municipality recently inaugurated the baseball park in the Guavate neighborhood, which is named after former mayor Junior Oquendo, as part of the plans to provide the communities with the best facilities for their residents and visitors. “What the Cayeyano Sports Hall of Fame has in history, we complement it with the development strategies of the new sports pines,” said the mayor.

This assertion is evident in events such as the Puerto Rico Games, which this year were held in Toa Baja, where Cayey took 163 participants, in disciplines such as baseball, volleyball, basketball, athletics, chess, field tennis, and table tennis. , as well as rhythmic exercises and adapted volleyball.
