SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department will host several fruit tree adoption events. The first of them will take place this Saturday.
As announced, this first event will be held at the Texas A&M San Antonio University campus, at One University Way. It will be from 8:00 am to noon, or while supplies last.
The access entrance will be through S. Blackberry Street to Jaguar Parkway and the delivery of trees will be made in parking lot 3.
There will be 600 fruit trees available including apple, fig, lemon, lime, tangerine, orange and pear. One tree per car will be delivered on a first come, first serve basis.
All trees are provided by the Department of Parks and Recreation through the Tree Canopy Preservation and Mitigation Fund.
On the other hand, on March 20 there will be a similar event east of San Antonio, starting at 8:00 a.m. It will take place at the Wheatley Heights Sports Complex, at 200 Noblewood Dr.
