The Human Rights Directorate of the Supreme Court of Justice holds this Monday, December 11, the “Photo Exhibition – Indigenous Action Against Climate Change”, in the Plaza de la Justicia, located in front of the headquarters of the Palace of Justice of Asunción, from 7:00 to 12:00. The activity is carried out within the framework of International Human Rights Day, which is celebrated every December 10 in commemoration of the day on which the United Nations General Assembly approved the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
The exhibition not only highlights the intrinsic connection between human rights and climate action, but also highlights the crucial role of indigenous communities in this context. Through striking images, the exhibition seeks to raise awareness among society about the challenges these communities face in the face of climate change and highlight their valuable contribution to the search for sustainable solutions.
In addition, the event will have the notable presence of indigenous leaders from the FAPI (Federation for the Self-Determination of Indigenous Peoples). The event is aimed at the general public, adding significant value, offering fundamental perspectives and experiences in the fight for human rights and environmental preservation.
The Supreme Court of Justice thus reaffirms its commitment to remove obstacles and advance its management in order to comply, in the field of the administration of justice, with the state obligation to protect the human rights of all people.
