The United States embassy in Mexico, through its consulate general in Nogales, has learned of the death of young Nicholas Douglass Quets, 30 years old, originally from Tucson, Arizona, who was traveling accompanied by his girlfriend and mother-in-law when He was shot multiple times on the Altar-Caborca ​​highway in the state of Sonora, last Friday night.

The young surfer was traveling in a gray Ford pickup truck, accompanied by his family, from Nogales to Puerto Peñasco when he was allegedly forced to stop by an armed group, whom he ignored and they shot him.

Meanwhile, the State Attorney General’s Office reported that investigative work has begun to locate and capture those responsible for what it described as a direct attack.

“According to the first interviews with elements of the Municipal Police, who acted as first responders, witnesses at the scene indicated that a vehicle was paired with the car in which the victims were traveling and, from inside, they fired shots at Nicholas” N”, 30 years old”.

Although Red Cross paramedics came to provide medical attention to the injured man, he no longer had vital signs.

According to information from local media, the other two people aboard this vehicle are in good health and under the protection of security authorities.
