The Chicago Fire Department responded to reports of a red line train derailment near the station. Big hill in the neighborhood of Edgewater, reported the authorities.
In total, 24 passengers were aboard the train and no injuries were reported, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman said.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 pm on Monday when the wheel of a purple line train apparently went off the tracks.
As a result of this mishap, they temporarily suspended the service of the red line, between the Belmont and Howard stations, as well as the purple express line, the CTA announced on its twitter account.
