Tijuana.- Breast cancer occurs in younger women, which is why prevention from earlier ages is relevant, said the founder of Mujeres por Mujeres, Angélica Martínez González.
“Unfortunately, it was always seen as a disease for grandparents, but it already occurs in young women. In the group we have ladies, young ladies, because some have not been married for 25, 32 and 35 years, with a process. We always see the information on the streets, but we believe that it will never touch us, always the one next to us, ”she commented.
The activist pointed out that for women the accompaniment they develop in the disease, with other people who face breast cancer, is essential.
“We help to accompany the process for those who have just been diagnosed, for those who are undergoing treatment, we provide them with wigs, prostheses, but we also have a year-round campaign for mammograms, ultrasounds and pap smears,” he added.
Martínez González warned that any woman can be diagnosed with breast cancer, regardless of her economic status or lifestyle.
“When a case occurs close to us or with us, it is when we want to eat the world trying to inform ourselves. Unfortunately there is no prevention. Our women, even if they are the best athletes, vegans, those who do not eat meat, they still get to present themselves. It is a flip that is made to life, but what it is, we can be on the lookout from the age of 40 with mammograms or before the age of 40, if we feel a difference in our body, ”she said.

Finally, she suggested that women go to different points where preventive care is provided, whatever the month of the year, not just in October, the month of breast cancer prevention.
“I went through a cancer process 14 years ago, as a result of living the process, I saw the need to talk to someone who is going through the same process, to know how difficult it is, but accompanied as you can get ahead,” he concluded.
