Ukrainian drones, even homemade ones, can indeed bypass Russian air defense systems and strike deep into Russian territory. Military expert Alexander Mikhailov believes that they pose a danger to important sites in Russia.
He noted that even domestically, small kamikaze drones can be upgraded so that they can travel up to 600 km from the launch site.
“If they are launched en masse from the territory of Ukraine, they can go through our air defense system in some parts of the airspace, penetrate, find loopholes,” he said.
According to the expert, in this case, the Russian side can use short-range strike systems, but they cannot be deployed along the entire perimeter necessary for protection.
The analyst suggests that Ukraine could use the UAV to create the illusion of a massive attack on Russia with great destruction.
For example, hitting oil facilities for a beautiful and spectacular picture on social networks – sometimes such explosions look like a nuclear war that has already begun.
The worst thing is that if the drones are targeted using foreign satellites – then they will actually cause a lot of damage.
“It is clear that they can be sent to residential sites in our border regions or to places where work or civilian vehicles are concentrated,” the expert summarized.
