They increase orange production from 10 to 40 tons per hectare – Inforegion

SAN MARTIN. By incorporating technological innovations in orange production, San Martín farmers have managed to increase the production of their crop from 10 to 40 tons per hectare, which allows them to be more competitive in the market and increase their income.

The Regional Government of San Martín (Goresam) specified that this is the result of the Orange Project carried out by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture under the focus of the productive revolution, implementing technological packages of agronomic management, fertilization and fertilization methods, identification techniques of pests, in addition to using the fertigation system, aimed at obtaining greater productivity.

Martha Enith Del Castillo Pérez, mother of two professional children, has been an orange producer for four years who migrated from her native Shapaja, province of San Martín, settling with her husband and family in the district of Juanjui, jurisdiction of the province of Mariscal Cáceres, in the San Martín region.

In that place and thanks to his constant work and the support of his family, he has experienced an increase of more than four times what he produced, in his farm called María Martha, in the Chambira – Río Blanco sector, where he cultivates 2.5 hectares of oranges in production, with the technical assistance and accompaniment of the technicians of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture.

“In my farm we technify our cultivation with the advice of professionals from the regional government, developing good agricultural practices with integrated management in a sustainable way, helping to improve productivity and competitiveness levels and increase our income,” said Del Castillo Pérez.

He expressed his gratitude to the regional government for the help it is providing to farmers through the orange project, favoring the improvement of productivity, informed the Goresam to INFOREGIÓN.

GIVEN
The purpose of the Naranja project is to provide adequate support services for the productive development of the orange chain, helping to improve levels of productivity and competitiveness and increase the income of producers in the provinces of Mariscal Cáceres, Bellavista and Huallaga.
