The Legislative Assembly incorporated $33,063,818.00 million to implement the Telemedicine system at the El Salvador Hospital.
The deputies reformed the General State Budget 2024, in the Health branch, where they incorporated funds from external loans that will be executed for said hospital.
The funds come from a loan that the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) granted to the Government on November 20, 2023.
Furthermore, in plenary session 153, it was stated that the resources will be used for the acquisition of software, the cloud storage service and the artificial intelligence medical assistant service.
Another amount will be allocated for the design and construction of the building where the Telemedicine System will operate, for office equipment and adaptation, as well as for the hiring of medical personnel.
“As a country we have made a lot of progress in terms of health. There is a marked difference between the system that existed before and the one that is being built. (With telemedicine) the population will have one more tool at their disposal to take care of their health,” commented Congressman José Urbina.
