This Thursday the evidentiary hearing takes place against the former president of the Legislative Assembly, Lorena Peña, and her daughter Ana Virginia Guardado, accused of illicit enrichment.
The former representative and her daughter are being sued civilly by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, after 15 irregularities were presented in their increase in assets, for an amount of $277,482.54 dollars.
This trial takes place before the First Civil Chamber of the First Section of the Center of San Salvador.
Lorena Peña is accused of 7 irregularities that she has not been able to justify in her capacity as a former parliamentarian in the periods between May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2015, and from May 1, 2015 to April 30, 2018.
The inconsistencies are reflected in cash bank deposits, in the acquisition of two properties and the payment of credit cards for a total of $140,521.57.
The daughter of the former parliamentarian has been sued for 8 irregularities consisting of payments in cash bank deposits and credit card payments for an amount of $136,960. 94.
The tax file was opened after the full Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) notified of the irregularities detected by the Probity Section.
