They hit a refinery in Saudi Arabia. Does the oil stop?

Authorities in Saudi Arabia announced today that they are “temporarily reducing” oil production in one of the installations of the giant “Aramco”, which was damaged in an attack by Hussein rebels from neighboring Yemen, AFP reported.

The Hussites have repeatedly attacked drones and missiles at night in Saudi Arabia, the commander of a military coalition in Yemen that has supported the government since 2015 in its fight against the Iranian-backed Hussites.

One attack on the YASREF refinery in the Red Sea town of Yanbu “caused a temporary reduction in production, which will be offset by reserves,” the energy ministry said in a statement, without specifying how much it would reduce production. The attack passed without casualties.

According to a ministry official, two drones were sent against the Yanbu gas plant and another against the YASREF refinery, which according to its website produces 400,000 barrels a day.

The Husseins said today that they had attacked “vital” sites, including Aramco installations, with drones and missiles.

The coalition, meanwhile, said Saudi air defenses had shot down ballistic missiles aimed at the city of Gizan, as well as nine armed drones sent to other parts of the kingdom, the world’s largest crude oil exporter.
