“It is a flag of universal importance.” This is how Fernando Viñuela, a pioneer in establishing an endovascular technique for the treatment of brain aneurysms, described the launch of the new Interventional Neuroradiology Chair, promoted by the USC and Balt Spain, and directed by Professor José Manuel Pumar. The rector, Antonio López, highlighted the importance of “bringing new fields of knowledge to the field of training.” The chair, which was presented yesterday at Fonseca, is a pioneer worldwide.
Pumar highlighted the importance that this chair can have so that a specific training area in interventional neuroradiology is created at the ministerial level, since the process began in 2007 and has not yet been completed.
