Motorists can now safely cross Plovdiv’s Ring Road, in the section near the ‘Jumbo’ and ‘Metro’ shops. So the head of the traffic police of the city under the hills told “Maritsa”. insp. Jordan Milushev.
According to him, at the moment there are still signs of a temporary organization at the site, but it is going well. “We have installed the warning and safety signs, as the workers are putting up the guardrails. The signs have already been laid, the asphalt too, the traffic goes in both directions. So Plovdiv residents and guests of the city can easily buy the next holiday in both department stores”, assured ch. insp. Milushev.
The repair created a lot of nerves for motorists, especially since they had to choose alternative routes.
Activities on the ring road section began at the beginning of September this year. The part of the Pazardzhik road up to the “Trakia” highway was closed for traffic and traffic was rerouted through the city. The construction works were part of the gradual repair of more than 14 km of the roadway which started in 2021. Last year almost 8 km of the route between “Komatevsko” and “Asenovgradsko shose” was renewed. The repair works included the improvement of drainage, asphalt laying, concrete ditches, diversions and locks, road markings, restriction systems and road signs.
