Until yesterday afternoon, the National Electoral Institute (INE) had not been notified about the provisional suspension granted by a Colima judge to stop the process towards the election of ministers, magistrates and judges, which began last Monday. reported the president of the institute, Guadalupe Taddei.

He said that once they have the sentence, the 11 councilors must analyze it together with the legal area to determine if they abide by said suspension, that is, if it is appropriate to stop the process or if it is unfounded and they continue with their organization.

The counselors Dania Ravel, Carla Humphrey and Claudia Zavala agreed that as long as they do not have the sentence, they cannot make a decision, even if it is public knowledge, because they must respect legal procedures, but they will not act based on statements from other political actors. , like Senator Ricardo Monreal, who called on the INE to ignore it.

Interviewed separately during the ordinary session of the INE, Taddei indicated that they will wait and analyze legally to see what proceeds. It’s not just me, there are 11 councilors who will have to take a position, he stressed.

Meanwhile, Dania Ravel was emphatic in pointing out that they will make a determination with autonomy and independence, but they must first analyze it.

He considered that they have to review the terms of this suspension, if it is effectively binding the General Council of the INE so that they no longer take any action, and “of course that all the determinations of the jurisdictional authorities must be complied with.

For his part, Humphrey commented that until they are notified and read the ruling they will determine what legally proceeds.
