Pope Francis commented, jokingly, that Brazilians should pray more, during a brief dialogue with a priest from the state of Paraiba, and it went viral on social media.

In the video, Father João Paulo Souto Victor, from Campina Grande, in the interior of Paraiba, asked the pontiff to pray for the Brazilians.

Laughing, Francisco commented that Brazilians they have no “salvation” because in the country there are “A lot of cachaça and little prayer”, recorded the video.

Father Souto Victor responded with an approving smile to the pontiff’s manifestation, who affectionately passed his hand over his head before greeting other faithful.
